Welcome to the Registration Page for the Longwoods War of 1812 Education Day on May 4th, 2012, held at the Longwoods Conservation Area from 10am until 2:00pm.  This page is designed for teachers of grades seven and eight so that they can register their classes to attend this one-day event.  Please read the information below before proceeding to fill out the registration form.

Important Education Day Information:

The Longwoods Conservation Area and the Upper Thames Military Reenactment Society can only accomodate a certain number of children.  Registration will be on a first come, first served basis.  Those beyond our capacities will be placed on a waiting list and contacted if space opens.

Groups will be sent their schedules when a deposit is received.

The cost per student attending education day is $7.  A deposit of $100 (or $3.50 per student, whichever is less) will be due on April 1st and schools will be invoiced for the balance after the event.  Cheques should be made out to 'Longwoods Heritage Days'
Cheques should be sent to:
  1460 Norman Ave
   London, Ont.
   N6K 2A7

Please be as accurate as possible when telling us how many students you will have attending because we always have schools on the waiting list.  When you arrive at the event, the actual number of students will be recorded and you will be bill for them, less your deposit.

Education Day is held outside, rain or shine at the Longwoods Conservation Area (for directions, please see our Battle of Longwoods page) from 10am until 2:00pm.  Please ensure students are dressed and prepared for all forms of weather.

Education Day involves students moving through presentations that give them different perspectives on the War of 1812.  Each registered teacher will be sent a template for a booklet with questions relating to the War of 1812.  They will be able to answer most of the questions from the presentations.

Students should bring a litterless packed lunch.  There is nowhere to buy food at the Conservation area.

For any questions regarding Education Day, contact Glenn Stott by phone at 519-828-3843 or by email.
